Also, consider the following:

ALWAYS CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY BEFORE TAKING LEGAL ACTION

There will always be things that you should consider that you will not know or take into account, so start off consulting with an attorney about your case. The more experienced and knowledgeable the attorney is about your specific type of case, the court that will hear the case, and the local practices, the better.

IT’S ALWAYS BETTER TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY IF YOU CAN

Think of an attorney trying to do your job without any knowledge, training, or experience. Attorneys can be very helpful in protecting your relationships, rights and interests. So, if you are able to hire an attorney for your case, do so.

IF REPRESENTING YOURSELF “PRO SE”

If you are not able to hire an attorney for your case, then get the best assistance you can and do the best you can with as much preparation as is necessary for your situation while continuing to seek an attorney to represent you.
